The God-Fearing Partner

THE GOD-FEARING PARTNER

One of the items on the ideal partner list of most unmarried Christians is a "God-fearing partner". Who is a God-fearing partner? A God-fearing partner, simply put is a person who fears God. To fear God as used in this phrase doesn't necessarily mean to be scared of God in the negative sense. But to have a deep reverence or respect for God.

A God-fearing person is one that loves God and hates evil. A God-fearing person isn't merely a person who goes to church. The church is said to be a clinic for the sick but remember not everybody might be responding to treatment. The fact that someone leads or sings in the choir doesn't mean the person is God fearing. The fact that he is a prayer warrior doesn't mean he is God fearing. Let's not be deceived by people's religiosity or outward show of spirituality. Fearing

God is a character.

The fact that you met a person in church doesn't mean he/she came there for salvation. Now, people have different reasons for going to church. Beware of pretenders. They are wolfs in sheep clothing. To know a truly God-fearing person demands the help of God because people can pretend to get what they want. If you really want to know if someone fears God or not, be patient, pray and study the character of the person over a period of time.

√ A God-fearing partner won't lead you to sin. Let's be plain, a God-fearing partner won't fornicate with you. We are humans, mistakes are bound to happen, but an action repeated more than once is no more a mistake. If a person is truly God-fearing, he/she won't ask you for sex. A God-fearing person abides by the Word of God and hates sin.

√ A God-fearing partner will constantly lead you to God. One sign that your partner truly loves you is when he/she makes a constant effort to help you grow in your spiritual life. The person prays with you, studies the scriptures with you and encourages you to spend time with God.

√ A God-fearing partner makes God a priority in your relationship. God always deserves first place in our lives. Our relationships are no exceptions. There are lots of things that can make a relationship grow but none is more important than God. It is a mistake to believe that a relationship cannot grow without sex. That is a carnal thought which a Christian should not entertain.

√ Finally, a God-fearing partner will love you irrespective of your shortcomings. Let me add that a God-fearing partner will respect you and will not dare to cheat on you. The love the person has for God will be transmitted to you.

A lot of guys/ladies know that young Christians are looking for God-fearing partners to marry so people pretend to be one so that you can start a relationship with them. But their fruits will eventually expose them. Let me add that before you pray for a God-fearing partner, please make sure you are also God-fearing.

If you are reading this and you are an unmarried Christian, I will advise you to spend much time praying for God to lead you to a truly God-fearing person. Be patient, be faithful to God, avoid all sexual acts and God will bless you with a wonderful life partner. For God to give you His best, give your best to God. Let's emphasize that sex before marriage isn't love making but a SIN. It has to be avoided all cost. Don't let anyone deceive you into it. Stay for God.
