How To Develop Your Talent

In our last discussions, we looked at how we can identify our talents. Please if you haven't read that piece, please do. Today we will discuss how we can develop our talents after we have identified them.

1. USE IT

Have you identified your talent? Then use it. It is quite as simple as that. Your talent is meant to be used so use it. One surest way of developing your talent is to use it for the purpose God gave it to you. Is your talent singing? Please sing. Do you have a talent in acting? Please start acting. Don't wait for a big opportunity to come knocking before you start. Great things begin in small ways. Dream big but start small. God won't give you bigger platforms if you can't take advantage of the small opportunities around you now. Please use your talent.

2. Work Hard.

Hard work won't break your bones. No matter how talented you are you still need to work hard to develop your talent. You talent is like a raw material that God has given you. It is your duty to work hard at developing it. Even the most talented of soccer players still train hard every day. Usain Bolt is a talented runner but he still had to work hard to get to where he is. Talent isn't a substitute for hard work. Your talent alone isn't enough, you need to put in the effort of working hard if you really want to achieve success. The fact that you can sing doesn't mean you shouldn't do more voice training. Work hard and polish the talent God blessed you with.

3. BE WILLING TO LEARN.

Lastly, be willing to learn new things. Learning is a continuous process in life. Learning only stops at our death. To develop your talent, you need to be humble enough to learn new things. The world is progressing at a very fast pace. If you don't acquired new knowledge, you will be left behind. So if you can sing, please learn how to play at least one musical instrument. Football players, no matter how talented they are still learn new ways of improving upon their skills. You need to improve upon your talent and one way you can do that is to learn new things. Read books, learn from people who are ahead of you. Spend time and money to feed your talent and your talent shall take you far.
