A Christian Youth In A Challenging World

The current state of this world is very unfriendly to Christians, more so a young person in Christ. In a world that has become so ungodly, it is always a very big challenge to live as a Christian in this world. There are lots of things that are pushing us to sin. A lot of pressure.

In the newspapers, on social media, on the internet and on TV, there are so many temptations that are pulling the youth away from the Church. In a world, where money, sex and fame have become gods, just how do you survive as a young person in Christ? Sin is everywhere, the pressure to conform is enormous. This is why most Christian youth backslide from the faith.

The call to be a Christian is a call to reject this world but how do you reject the pleasures of this world when they are pulling you from every angle? Alcoholic beverages have very enticing adverts on TV, same as condom adverts. Profane songs have very enticing lyrics and videos. The world is under the full control of Satan. To be a young person and be a faithful Christian, is a huge challenge now. Unfortunately, most people fall under this pressure.

As difficult as it may seem, God is faithful. God perfectly understands the challenges we face so He has given us the Holy Spirit to help us stand. We don't need to compromise on our faith. No matter the pressure, we need to stand strong in Jesus.

To overcome the temptations of this world and stand for Christ, we need to:

1. Be committed to Jesus Christ.

2. Spend time reading the Bible daily.

3. Fast and pray consistently.

4. Exercise self control.

5. Keep our minds from lustful thoughts.

6. Avoid people who pushes us to sin.

7. Depend on the Holy Spirit for strength.

May God be our helper. Let's stand strong for Christ. It is not in vain. God will surely reward us for every price we have to pay now to stand for Him. Let us not give up and compromise. God bless you.
