Breakfast With Christ - Be Still

BE STILL SCRIPTURE: PSALM 46:10 "He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Too often in our lives, we worry over things we shouldn't be worried about. We fight battles we shouldn't be fighting. We are scared of things we shouldn't be scared about. Today, God is telling us to be still.

These are the words of the first verse of the popular song by Hillsong:

"Be still and know That the Lord is in control Be still my soul Stand and watch as giants fall I won't be afraid If You are here You silence all my fears"

The word "still" is a translation of the Hebrew word "rapa", meaning “to cease.” The message is clear, God wants us to cease from worrying, He wants us to cease from being afraid, He wants us to cease from fighting battles which are not meant for us. He wants us to be still and know that He is God.

Whatever battle you are fighting, you need to know that you cannot win on your own. You need to be still and allow God to fight for you. What are you scared of? Be still and allow God to deliver you. What are your worries? Be still and give all to God in prayer.

Be still and hand over everything to God in prayer. You don't need to worry over anything, you only need to have faith in God and trust Him. Be still and know that He is God. He is the God of all creation, He is bigger than the universe. Nothing is beyond Him. He is greater than all your problems.

Let your soul be still. God is on your side. He is working for you in silence. Which of your problems have you ever solved by worrying? Be still. Worrying won't take away your pains. Be still. God will do great things in your life if only you will be still and allow Him to take control. BE STILL!

PRAYER LINE Father, today, I hand over the control of my life to you. I will be still and know that you are GOD. Amen
