Breakfast With Christ - Return To Calvary

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: RETURN TO CALVARY SCRIPTURE: JOHN 19:17 "They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha".

Calvary or Golgotha is the place immediately outside of Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified. Calvary is so important in Christian history because it is the place where our redemption started.

Hanging criminals on a cross was the most embarrassing punishment giving to criminals in the Jewish custom. The Son of God was laid at Calvary, not because He was a criminal or a sinner but because He took our place.

If we carefully ponder over the suffering of Jesus Christ at Calvary, sin will become less desirable to us. Anytime, we live in sin, we make the sacrifice of Jesus Christ useless. He died so that we could be free from the bondage of sin.

For many of us, it is time we returned to Calvary. We have departed from the Cross of Christ. We have allowed our flesh and the sinful attractions of this world to draw us away from the cross. We need to get back to Calvary now.

You might still be very active in church work but you know your personal relationship with Christ is down, please return to Calvary for redemption. Let nothing, absolutely nothing take you away from the road to eternal life.

It doesn't matter how deep you have fallen, it is time to return to Calvary and repent. Remember this, nothing in this world is permanent, life is not forever. Don't risk your eternal life for temporary pleasures. Please return to Christ now.

Where is the passion, the desire and the enthusiasm you used to have for Christ?

What happened to your love for God? Sin has only one end; eternal condemnation. Sin may be sweet now, but hell fire awaits. Let's return to the Cross of Christ and genuinely repent before it is too late.
