BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: SERVING GOD IN THE WILDERNESS (1) SCRIPTURE: PSALM 121:1-2 "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth."
Almost every Christian will at one point in time have the wilderness experience. The wilderness is that place we get to in life and nothing seems to work for us. It is a place of hopelessness, lack, discouragement, pain and tears.
It is so easy to serve God when all things seem easy. The most difficult yet the most important time to serve God is when you are in the wilderness. That is the time when we are most vulnerable. Many a time, even our trusted friends disappear when we are in the wilderness.
The hardest part of being in the wilderness is that God seems silent too. It seems your prayers are going no where. This is a very difficult time in our lives. The temptation to give up on God and seek other solutions is so ripe at this time.
But each Christian must know how to survive the wilderness experience. Not just survive but we must know how to be faithful to God even in the midst of intense hardship. No matter how difficult life gets, giving up on God isn't the solution.
The wilderness is God's training center. Our faiths are tested. Our trust in God is tested. God tests our patience and endurance. Truth is, to get promoted by God, we must by all means pass the wilderness test.
If you are going through a wilderness experience now, I pray the Lord gives you the Grace and the strength to endure. Don't give up. Be encouraged. The wilderness moment shall pass and you will come out stronger.
