Breakfast With Christ - The Lord Is My Shepherd

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD SCRIPTURE: PSALM 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want"

Welcome to BWC. Psalm 23:1 is probably the most popular of all the Psalms of David. It is perhaps the most quoted verse in the book of Psalm. But what does it really mean to say the Lord is your shepherd?

THE ROLE OF THE SHEPHERD A shepherd leads, feeds and protects the sheep. Basically, a shepherd takes care of his sheep. To say the Lord is your shepherd is to declare that you have complete faith in God to take care of you.

If God is indeed your shepherd, then you should trust Him to lead you in life. If God is your shepherd then you should depend on Him completely. God is enough for you. If God is your shepherd then you need to have faith in Him to protect you from harm.

I SHALL NOT WANT "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want". "I shall not want" simply means if God is your shepherd, then you shall lack nothing in life. What do you need or want in this life that God cannot provide for you? Name it.

He is Jehovah Jireh, our provider. God will provide all your needs. If God is your shepherd, why do you still worry so much? Why do you live in constant fear? Why do you live in doubt? You need to have absolute trust in God to take care of you as a your shepherd.

The Lord is your shepherd, He shall save you. The Lord is your shepherd, He shall provide your needs. The Lord is your shepherd, He shall heal you. The Lord is your shepherd, He shall protect you. Just have faith and live in obedience.
