BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST TOPIC: LIVING THE GOSPEL SCRIPTURE: PHILIPPIANS 1:27 "Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ..."
Welcome to BWC. As a Christian, is your conduct or behaviour worthy of the Gospel of Christ? Do live like a Christian should? In Paul's letter to the Philippians, he advised them to live the Gospel they claimed to believe in.
One of the biggest challenges to modern day Christianity is Christians who do not live like Christians. If we say we are Christians, then our conduct or lifestyle must reflect the Gospel we say we believe in.
Christianity is not a verbal declaration we make, it is a life we live to the Glory of God. It is not enough to just say you are a Christian, you must live like a Christian. It is not enough to just pray or go to church, your conduct must reflect the gospel of Christ.
We deceive ourselves when we claim to be followers of Christ but we don't live like Christ. We cannot call God our Father but live contrary to His Word. There has to be a clear difference between the lifestyle of a follower of Jesus and the lifestyle of the non Christians.
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves" James 1:22. It is not enough to just read the Bible daily, it is not enough to listen to series of "powerful" sermons daily, we must live the Word of God.
Listening to a gospel music isn't what makes you a Christian, going to church isn't what makes you a Christian, possessing a Bible isn't what makes you a Christian, what actually makes you a Christian is living according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Does your lifestyle reflect the Gospel of Christ?
