Breakfast With Christ - The Carnal Christian

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: THE CARNAL CHRISTIAN SCRIPTURE: 1 CORINTHIANS 3:1 "Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still carnal—mere infants in Christ".

Welcome to BWC. The Greek word for "carnal" is "sarkikos" which literally means "fleshy" or "worldly". It may sound contradictory to describe a Christian as carnal but the truth is a lot of us have carnality in some areas of our lives that we need to check.

WHO IS A CARNAL CHRISTIAN? A carnal Christian is a man who has accepted Jesus Christ but is still driven by the lustful desires of his/her flesh. Paul, in his letter to the church at Corinth described them as carnal because of some characteristics they were exhibiting.

The carnal Christian, even though has accepted Christ, isn't led by the Spirit of God. The carnal Christian is that believer who is still led by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Such a Christian is still worldly.

The carnal Christian has publicly accepted Christ but hasn't allowed himself/herself to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. The carnal Christian doesn't obey the voice of God.

The carnal Christian publicly professes Christ but lives in sin privately. The carnal Christian lives a hypocritical life. The carnal Christian goes to church and takes part in all church activities but he/she doesn't live for God. The carnal Christian is a worldly Christian.

Are you a carnal Christian? Are you driven by lustful desires or you are driven by the Spirit of God? Please let's carefully check our lives today and repent from all carnality. Let's submit ourselves to the Spirit of God and live fully for God.
