BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: DON'T GO BACK SCRIPTURE: JOHN 8:11 "She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

Welcome to BWC. The story of the woman caught in the act of adultery is a popular Bible story. Jesus' treatment of the woman showed two things: GRACE AND TRUTH. In forgiving the woman, Jesus offered her God's Grace and Mercy. In telling the woman not to sin anymore, Jesus offered her the truth about how God hates sin.

God forgives sin but God hates sin. Forgiveness isn't cheap, it cost God the divine Blood of Jesus Christ to wash away our sins. When God forgives our sins, He doesn't do it only for us to go back to the same sin again.

Jesus's instruction to this woman was simple: you are forgiven but don't go back to your old ways of sinning anymore. Too many times, we take the forgiveness of God for granted. In fact, taking God's Grace for granted is a sin on its own.

The truth is so long as we remain in the flesh, sin will always be an issue for us. But sin no longer needs to be a deliberate lifestyle choice we should be making. We were not saved only for us to keep going back to our old sinful ways. God saved us to walk in holiness.

Today, let us decide to forsake our flesh desires and choose to live for God. Let us choose to reject sin and walk in holiness. We don't need to keep going back to the same sins anymore. Let us not take God's forgiveness for granted. Living in sin is dangerous, let's walk in holiness.

PRAYER LINE Lord, please give me the Grace never to go back to my sins anymore. Amen
