BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: AMBASSADORS OF THE KINGDOM SCRIPTURE: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:20 "Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ..."
Welcome to BWC. This is the fourth part of our series on "GOD'S KINGDOM". Today, we look at the believer as an ambassador of God's Kingdom. An ambassador is the representative of one country in another country. An ambassador is a symbol of his/her home country.
In Philippians 3:20, Paul states "For our citizenship is in heaven". If we are citizens of Heaven, then it means we are foreigners on earth. As citizens of God's Kingdom, we need to represent Christ on Earth. The question really is "are we being good representatives of Christ on earth"?
God is love. An ambassador of God's Kingdom must walk in love. We must love everyone. We must be kind to others. Hatred, jealousy and bitterness must not have a place in our hearts. We must show God's love to others. Are we doing it?
As ambassadors of Christ, we must live like Christ. Our speech, our appearance, our relationships, our lifestyle in general must be godly. Those who don't know Jesus must be able to see Jesus in us. Our conduct must reflect the culture of God's Kingdom which is Holiness.
As ambassadors of the kingdom, we must proclaim the Gospel of the kingdom to the world. We must share the Gospel of Christ with others. John 3:16 must be our message to the world. God expects us to do this.
Which kind of ambassador are you? Are you representing Christ well on earth or you are just living your own life? Remember this, as an ambassador of God's Kingdom, you will one day return to the Lord and give account of your service on earth. Be a good ambassador.
