BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: CITIZENS OF THE KINGDOM SCRIPTURE: JOHN 3:5 "Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit."
Welcome to BWC. In our last BWC, we started with a series on "the Kingdom of God". Today, we look at how to become a citizen of God's Kingdom.
A citizen is a legally recognized member of a state or a nation. A citizen enjoys all the privileges the state offers. There are several ways to become a citizen of a country on earth. But there is only one one way to become a citizen of God's Kingdom, you must be born again.
Unless you are born again through the Blood of Christ, God will not recognize you as member of His Kingdom. To be born again, you must forsake your sins and accept newness of life in Christ. This is how to become a citizen of God's Kingdom.
Being a citizen of God's Kingdom comes with a lot of benefits and privileges. The greatest of them is that you gain eternal life in Heaven. When you depart this earth into eternity, your place in Heaven is assured if you are a citizen of God's Kingdom.
The fact that God created you doesn't mean you are part of His Kingdom. You must be born again. You must live in Christ. You must make up your mind to become part of God's Kingdom. It is a personal decision each one of us must make.
There is a standard that governs the citizens of God's Kingdom. Every citizen of the Kingdom is expected to abide by this standard. In our next BWC, we will look at what this standard is.
