BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: TEMPTATIONS OF THE FLESH
SCRIPTURE: 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13
"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it".
Welcome to BWC. Temptation is the desire to do something wrong. In the Bible, temptation is the desire to sin. We all get tempted. None of us is above temptations.
Contrary to what some believe, God doesn't tempt us. We are tempted when we are drawn away by our own desires. No temptation comes from God(James 1:13). Temptation itself isn't a sin. Falling for a temptation is the sin.
According to Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:13, no temptation is above us. God will not allow us to face temptations we cannot overcome. Also, God always makes a way for us out of every temptation. In short, we have no excuse to fall for temptations.
Truth is, there is no temptation you are facing today that is special. Someone faced it and overcame it. You can also overcome it. God has given you the power and strength to overcome all temptations. It isn't beyond you. You can overcome that temptation.
If you are on the verge of giving in to that temptation again, hold on. God is making a way of escape for you. No matter what the circumstances may be, don't give in to that temptation and sin against your God. Sin has consequences.
When we overcome temptations, God rewards us(James 1:12). Don't fall for Satan's lies and schemes. Today, God wants you to know that you can overcome all temptations. You have the strength of God. Stand firm.
