Breakfast with Christ - The Lost Sheep
TOPIC: THE LOST SHEEP SCRIPTURE: LUKE 15:4 "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?"
Welcome to BWC. Today, we look at a parable Jesus narrated in one of His sermons. I will humbly urge you to read the full parable in Luke 15:1-7.
In Luke 15:7, Jesus told us something about Heaven which is very interesting, He said "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."
It takes the repentance of just one sinner to make the whole Heaven rejoice. That is how important our personal salvation is to God. I am convinced that even if there were only one sinner on earth, Jesus would still have died on the Cross.
Our salvation is so important to God that He sacrificed His Son on the Cross for us. Let's take some few seconds to try to imagine the unimaginable sufferings Jesus went through just because of you and me.
Jesus was humiliated, He was beaten, and hanged on the Cross to suffocate and die so that we could be saved from sin. He didn't deserve it but He did it for us. He died the death of a criminal even though He was God in the flesh.
His own creations tortured Him and the King of Heaven bled to death. In all that pain and anguish, He had us in mind. He didn't give up on us. So why do we give up on God under the least pressure? There is nothing in this world that we would go through for Christ which is worse than what He went through for us.
Please take a moment to reflect on what the Lord had to endure for you. All that would be in vain if you don't give up on sin and live for Jesus Christ. He died for you. Why are you not living for Him? Perhaps, you are that lost sheep Jesus is looking for today, please stop running, just come to Jesus and be saved.
You need to give up on all the pleasures of sin and live for Jesus alone. Only Jesus can give you that inner Joy and Peace you need. It is not enough to go to church, you need to surrender your life to Jesus today. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, the time to get Born again is now. You need to live for Jesus.
