Breakfast With Christ - Facing The Red Sea

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: FACING THE RED SEA

SCRIPTURE: EXODUS 13:18

"So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea..."

Welcome to BWC. What do you do when you are faced with the red sea/challenges? The Book of Exodus recorded how God took the Israelites out of Egypt. The Israelites were under slavery in Egypt for over 400 years. God heard their cry and sent Moses to save them.

After facing God's wrath, the Egyptians decided to let the Israelites go. They were to go to the promise land God promised Abraham. The Bible said God led them through the wilderness of the Red Sea, with the Egyptian army still chasing them.

When they got to the Red Sea, they were faced with their first challenge; how to cross the sea. Behind them was their past still chasing them, beyond their present challenge was their future land, but to get to that future, they first had to overcome the red sea. Sometimes God will put a Red Sea between you and your future to test your faith in Him.

The Israelites had seen God performed a lot of miracles in Egypt but when they were faced with their first challenge on their journey, they chose to complain and blame Moses. So soon, they had forgotten about the God that brought them that far. The Israelites gave us an example of how not to react to challenges. Moses cried to God and God made a way through the Red Sea for them.

When we are faced with challenges in our lives, we can either react like the Israelites or react like Moses. It is a choice. For most of us, God has done a lot in our lives but any time we are faced with the Red Sea/challenge, we choose to complain to God instead of trusting in Him to deliver us.

One thing we need to note is that it was God himself who led the Israelites to the Red Sea. God will never lead you into a situation unless He has already made a way for you out of the situation. God is not wicked, He loves us. God always has a plan, our duty is to trust Him.

Don't let the Red Sea in front of you discourage you. Beyond the Red Sea lies your future. Don't let the challenges you face in your Christian life make you want to go back to your past. There is a reason God took you out of that past. The same God that has brought you this far will also take you to your promise land. Don't lose hope, just have faith in God. Stay blessed!

PRAYER LINE:

Lord, thank you for bringing me this far. Please guide me to overcome any obstacle I may face in life. Amen.
