TOPIC: EXTRA OIL
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 25:1-13
13- "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming".
Welcome to BWC. In Matthew 25:1-13, Jesus narrated the parable of the ten virgins. Five of the virgins were foolish because they were not prepared when their bridegroom arrived. Five of them on the other hand had extra oil for their lamps so they were ready when the bridegroom arrived.
This whole parable was about the Kingdom of Heaven. The first thing we see from this story is that all the ten women were virgins. Which means they were all pure and qualified for Heaven. However, when the hour of rapture/judgement came only five of them were ready because they had extra oil for their lamps.
The question each of us need to ponder over today is this: "should God take away my breath today, will I go to heaven or hell? Dear friend, How prepared are you to meet God? What is the state of your life? Salvation isn't a thing to be played with.
In the parable, all the ten women were waiting for the Bridegroom. They were all qualified. But when the most important moment arrived, only five were ready. You can be attending church regularly, you can be highly spiritual, but what is the state of your heart and your life?
In Matthew 25 v 13, Jesus said we should keep watch. To keep watch means we should be alert. We should always be ready for His coming. Are you keeping watch? Or you have relaxed in your christian walk?
It is high time we took our Christian walk serious. Salvation is a serious business. It is about the eternal destination of our souls. We need to wake up from our slumber. We need to stop allowing the pleasures of life to distract us from God.
Be determined to make it to Heaven at any cost. Don't let that sin make you miss Heaven. Do away with that sin now. Don't let any human make you miss Heaven. Always be ready to meet God. You don't know the hour God will call you. Keep watch and be prepared when that hour comes.
