TOPIC: PRICE BEFORE THE PRIZE

SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 16:24

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me".

There is a price to pay to become a follower of Jesus Christ. There is a prize to gain if you are a follower of Jesus Christ. But to gain that prize, you must be willing to pay the price. Nothing comes cheap when you are with God.

Unfortunately, many of us Christians today want the prize without paying the price. We want to have a crown from God without carrying our cross. We desire the easy way. But there is no easy way with God. If you want to get to Heaven, you must go through the narrow gate.

What price are you willing to pay to live for Jesus Christ? Remember, living for Jesus Christ might cost you everything. Are you willing to lose everything to stand for God?

Sometimes, you might lose your health, your job, your friends, your love relationship or your family to live for God. There is a price to pay to gain a prize from God. You must be willing to give up on anything you love for the sake of God.

Jesus Christ gave up everything to pay the ultimate price of death for your sins. Are you willing to give up on everything to live for Him? Are you willing to sacrifice your comfort for Jesus Christ?

The truth is, if God is so important to you, you shouldn't mind sacrificing everything to live for Him. If going to Heaven is so important to you, you shouldn't mind giving up on all sinful relationships and habits in your life to get there.

God absolutely deserves our best. There is no price too high to pay to live for God. There is a prize for all who will pay the price to follow Jesus Christ. There is an eternal crown for all who will stay faithful to God till the end.

If you want to follow Jesus, you should be willing to pay any price, you should be willing to sacrifice anything and you should be willing to give up on anything for God. Jesus Christ is more than worth every sacrifice. Are you willing to pay the price to gain the prize?
