TOPIC: VICTORY OVER SIN

SCRIPTURE: REVELATION 1:18

"I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades"

Jesus is alive. Yes, He isn't dead. The grave could not hold Him captive. He is Lord over the grave. He descended into the grave, dumped our sins there and resurrected as the righteous King. The greatest news of Easter is that Jesus is alive.

Jesus' death is very important for the salvation of humanity but there won't be Christianity without the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of our Christian faith.

When Jesus died on the Cross, He died with our sins placed on Him. When He resurrected, He gave us victory over sin. We are no longer slaves of sin. We are no longer in bondage. We are free to live for God. It doesn't mean we won't be tempted to sin, but we now have complete control over sin.

Jesus' resurrection also gave us victory over death. Jesus showed us that there is Hope after death. When we also die, we will resurrect to eternal life. Our lives as Christians don't end in death. There is a resurrection for us. Glory be to God.

Today, let's spend some time thanking God for sending His Son to die for us and giving us Hope of eternal life in Heaven. If you still haven't given your life to Christ, please this is the best time to do so. Don't postpone it. Stay blessed!
