TOPIC: DESIRING GOD II

SCRIPTURE: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God".

Welcome to BWC. Throughout the whole Bible, one thing is clear, God hates sin. God's hatred for sin and His love for humanity pulled Jesus Christ from Heaven to come and die for our sins. If we want to please God, we have no choice than to practice holiness.

DESIRING HOLINESS

For a Christian, holiness is a must not just a option. We must be holy. We must reject the pleasures of sin and live a life of holiness. Sin separates us from God. Sin is a ticket to eternal condemnation. Sin has no benefits just temporary pleasures.

Holiness is a command from God:

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16). Without holiness, none us of shall see God: "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14). God is a Holy God, if we want to dwell in His presence, then we need to desire Holiness.

To desire God is to desire a life of holiness. The only thing about a Christian which scares Satan is holiness. To be holy is to be consecrated and sanctified for the Lord. To be holy is to be set apart from the world for the Lord.

If we want to be part of God's Kingdom, then we need to genuinely repent from all sins and live a life of holiness. There is no other way. This was Jesus' words in Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God".

Holiness and purity may be very uncommon today, but they are the only things that will take us to the presence of God. We must desire holiness.
