Breakfast With Christ - When God Seems Late

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC:WHEN GOD SEEMS LATE

SCRIPTURE: JOHN 11:1-44

Welcome to BWC. The story of Jesus and Lazarus recorded in John 11 in the Bible is full of lessons for us. Today, we will take a look at three lessons we can pick from this story.

1. THERE IS A PURPOSE FOR EVERY DELAY(JOHN 11:4)

"When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby".

When Jesus was told that Lazarus was sick, He delayed before going to attend to Him. Why did Jesus delay? The scripture above gives us the answer. Lazarus' predicament was for the glory of God to be seen.

God has a purpose for allowing every pain that we go through as His children. There is a purpose for every delay. God knows everything. He sees everything. If He is delaying in answering your prayers, there is a good reason for it. Just trust Him.

2. FAITH IS NECESSARY FOR A MIRACLE ( JOHN 11:27)

“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Without faith, there won't be a miracle. Whosoever comes to God must believe that He is God. For us to experience miracles from God, we must have faith in Him. Doubt is the enemy of faith. Mary and Martha fully believed in Jesus Christ and they got their miracle.
