Breakfast With Christ - The Power Of Praises

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: THE POWER OF PRAISES

SCRIPTURE: ACTS 16:25-26

"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed".

One day in the city of Philippi, Paul and Silas had an encounter with a demon possessed girl. After Paul delivered the girl, her master got angry and dragged Paul to the market place to the Magistrates. The Magistrates then ordered Paul and Silas to be lashed with canes and then imprisoned.

Many of us would be wondering why God didn't save Paul from being caned. Sometimes God allows us to go through some things because He has a bigger miracle awaiting us.

In the prison, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God. I am sure the other prisoners would be wondering why these two guys were disturbing their sleep. But as Paul and Silas sang praises, God intervened mightily and an earth quake caused their chains to fall off and all the prison doors were opened. That was a miracle.

The amazing thing about this story is that despite the fact that Paul was caned and even thrown into prison, he still didn't complain to God or even got angry with God.

Most of us would have spent all the time praying and asking God 'why me'. Any time we complain about our problems to God, we miss a chance to pass the test of faith.

Paul would have missed that miracle if he had spent that night complaining to God instead of praising Him. Miracles happen when we overlook our many challenges and praise God.

Paul had every reason to complain but he didn't because he fully trusted God's divine Will. Anytime we question God's Will, we are telling Him we know better than Him.

Dear friend, if you can overlook your challenges and praise God, you will experience miracles in your life. Today, fill your heart with endless praises to God instead of constant lamentations.

God doesn't respond to our complaints, He only responds to our faith.

When you kneel before God, resist the temptation of complaining to Him and rather praise His Holy name and He shall intervene in whatever situation you are facing. Stay blessed.

Prayer line:

Lord, may your name be praised forever and ever. Amen.
