TOPIC: GRACE TO FINISH THE RACE
SCRIPTURE: 2 TIMOTHY 4:7
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
Welcome to BWC. There is a race that has been set before all of us. It is the race of life. It is an individual race. We don't compete with anyone else but we are all required by God to finish this race well. This was the race that Paul was referring to in His letter to Timothy.
We all wish we could have a perfectly normal Christian life devoid of any difficulty. But this wish can only happen in a fantasy world. In reality, our race of life is full of thorns, storms and very difficult situations. We cannot finish this race without the Grace of God.
Paul in his second letter to the young Minister of God, Timothy, stated how he had fought the good fight. What was this good fight? It was the good fight of faith. Paul had held on to His faith in God despite all the challenges he faced.
To stay in life's race and finish it well, we need the Grace of God. The Grace of God is the foundation of our Christian faith. It is this Grace that keeps us going when things get tough. We certainly cannot survive without God's Grace.
Some start the race well but end it badly. Others start badly but end well. One thing is certain, how you finish this race of life is what matters. To finish well, you must hold on to your faith in God no matter how difficult life gets for you. Never give up on God.
You may fall several times in life, but you are not a failure until you give up on God. When you feel tired and burdened in life, look up to God for strength. All our help comes from God. Ask God to give you strength to finish this race well.
At the end of it all, Heaven is our final goal. Be determined to make it to Heaven at all cost. Don't let the temporary situations in life distract you from the eternal goal of making it to Heaven. Hold on to your faith, fight the good fight of faith and finish the race well.
