BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: A DECISION TO SERVE GOD

SCRIPTURE: JOSHUA 24:15c

"But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Welcome to BWC. Serving God has to be a deliberate decision we make. We all need to decide where we belong to. It is either we are serving God or we are serving Satan. Trying to do the two at the same time is spiritually impossible. We need to make a decision to serve God.

After leading the Israelites to conquer and settle in their promised land, Joshua asked them to decide between serving idols and serving Jehovah. As their leader, Joshua led by example by deciding to serve God. He took a stand for God.

Serving God isn't automatic. It has to be a decision. We need to decide to stand for God at all cost. In a world which is increasingly becoming sinful, standing for God has become difficult. But God will never let down those who stand for Him.

We need to decide to reject sin and it's pleasures and stand for Holiness. The Christian life is a life of holiness or nothing else. You cannot be a sinful follower of Jesus Christ. A life of holiness is a must for every Christian.

In a world where sin has become normal, deciding to be holy is always going to be very difficult. But without holiness, none of us can serve God. He is a holy God. We cannot serve a holy God when we are in sin.

We need to decide to dedicate our lives to the service of God. God has to be our priority. Serving Him has to be our heartbeat. We need to decide to cut off any distraction that takes our focus away from God.

We also need to take a firm decision to live for God and to die for God. Life simply has no meaning without Jesus Christ. To die without Jesus Christ is an eternal calamity. We need to be Heavenly conscious in all we do. Life on earth is temporary, Heaven has to be our priority.
