TOPIC: AT REST IN CHRIST
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 11:28-29
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls".
Welcome to BWC. When we are physically tired, we get some rest through sleep. But what happens when you are emotionally drained and burdened? What happens when you are tired of life's issues? Today, Jesus gives us a way out.
COME TO ME
Today, Jesus Christ is throwing a special invitation to you. He isn't asking much from you, He is simply asking you to come to Him. Just come to Jesus. Just surrender.
Are you burdened and troubled? Is your soul wearied from life's issues? Are you constantly worried about the issues of this life? Are you living in constant fear of the unknown? The Lord Jesus Christ is calling you to Himself today. He says "come to me".
I WILL GIVE YOU REST
Which kind of rest is Jesus promising us today? Physical rest? No. Eternal rest in death? No. This is not rest from physical work. But a peaceful rest for our souls from life's issues.
Rest from what? Rest from worrying, rest from emotional weariness and rest from sin. When you come to Jesus, He takes away your burden of sin and gives you His righteousness.
PEACE THROUGH JESUS
Christ offers you peace that this world can never offer you. God doesn't want you to wake up every day being worried and scared of life. God wants you to live in peace in Him. God wants peace for your soul.
The troubles of life can easily drown you if you don't hold on to Jesus Christ. You cannot fight all your battles alone. You need Jesus Christ. You need a Savior. Today, He is asking you to come to Him to find rest for your soul.
You need to stop worrying about all the things in this life and rest in peace in Christ. You are carrying burdens that are too heavy for you. You need to find rest in Christ. Jesus has thrown an invitation to you today, will you accept that invitation?
