Breakfast With Christ _ Obedience

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: OBEDIENCE

SCRIPTURE: JOHN 2:7

"Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim"

Welcome to BWC. John 2 records one of Jesus earliest miracles at a wedding at Cana in Galilee. Many of us know the story of how Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding. But one very important element in this miracle was the obedience of the servants.

Obedience is a necessary tool for a miracle to occur. No man can walk with God without obedience. At the wedding, all Jesus did was to give instructions. If the servants had disobeyed His Words, they wouldn't have experienced that miracle.

So many of the miracles that occurred in the Bible, happened because the receiver(s) of the miracle obeyed the Voice of God. In John 9:7, Jesus told a blind man to go and wash his face in the pool of siloam. The man did this and had his miracle. Obedience.

We can fast and pray as much as we want. But if we don't live in obedience to the Word of God, we won't receive much from God. To live in the continuous atmosphere of God's presence, we need to obey every Word of God.

Partial obedience is disobedience. There are lots of us who don't obey God's Word, yet we always expect God to answer our prayers. No. God hates disobedience. Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden because of disobedience. Moses didn't enter the promise land because of disobedience.

If you have been praying for a miracle from God, please make sure you are living in complete obedience to God's Word. God will always honor His Word in our lives if we live in obedience.

Are you living in obedience to God's Word?
