TOPIC: THE VALLEY MOMENTS
SCRIPTURE: PSALM 23:4
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me;"
Welcome to BWC. A valley is a low lying area between two mountains. Metaphorically, a valley is used to depict the low moments we go through in life. We all go through low moments when things don't work as expected.
Life is not a rosy bed. There are truly difficult moments that come our way. None of us is exempted from such moments. Many of us are having some valley moments in our lives right now. It could be a health valley, emotional valley or a financial valley.
The first thing we need to understand when we are going through a valley moment is to know that the valley is a temporary place. There are seasons in life. Don't let the temporary negative seasons define the rest of your life. Don't make the valley your permanent destination.
In Psalm 23, the Psalmist says "Even though I WALK through the valley". David understood that the valley is a temporary place not his destination. To get to the mountain top, you need to walk through the valley. No situation is permanent. Your challenges are temporary, God will deliver you.
The next thing we need to understand when we are going through a valley moment is that God is with us. In Psalm 23:4, David boldly declared that he won't fear his valley moments because God is with him. God is always with us. He never leaves us.
Many a time, when we go through valley moments in life, we feel God has abandoned us. But God never abandons His children. No good father does that. God is always with us. No matter the difficulties, God is with you.
All our help cometh from God. Instead of trusting in our physical possessions or human beings, let us put our faith and trust in God. Humans will fail you, God won't. In your most difficult moments, look up to God.
If you are going through a valley moment right now, I want to urge you to put your trust in God. Your valley moment is temporary. You need to endure it. Remember, God is with you. You may feel like He has left you, but he hasn't. Trust Him. He will deliver you.
