BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: NOT BY MIGHT
SCRIPTURE: 2 SAMUEL 24:2
"So King David said to Joab, the commander of the army, “Go through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, and count the people. Then I will know how many there are.”
Welcome to BWC. We are into the last month of the year 2018. God has been good to us. If you feel God hasn't been good to you then you are probably not alive. Despite all the challenges, our God has been merciful to us. We have come this far only by His amazing Grace.
In the Book of 2 Samuel 24, Satan incited David to count the people of Israel. David did this to see the strength of his army. This action angered God because David was beginning to take pride in how large his army is instead of depending strictly on God. God therefore punished David.
We need to always understand that we are nothing without God. We don't achieve anything by our mere strength or might. Without the Grace of God, we would all be dead. We therefore need to give God the praise that is due Him.
What do you have that God didn't give you? You might be hardworking but without the Grace of God, hardwork is nothing. You might be eating well and living well but others did same but are not alive to see today. It is certainly not by our might but only the Grace of God.
For the rest of the days left in this calendar year, let's fill our mouths with the praises of our God. Let's learn to praise God even in the midst of our troubles and we will see the Hand of God.
If you think you have nothing to be grateful to God for, remember, the fact that your heart is still beating is a miracle. God has been faithful to us. His mercies endures forever and His Grace has been sufficient for us. We are here today only by God's Grace and not by our might.
PRAYER LINE
Lord, great is your faithfulness towards me. Thank you. Amen.
