TOPIC: THE NATURE OF GOD

SCRIPTURE: 1 JOHN 4:7-8

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love".

Welcome to BWC. One big difference between the Almighty God and Satan is in their very nature. God is Love. God doesn't just possess love, He is love. The very nature of God is love. Everything God does for us comes out of love.

We cannot claim to know God if we don't have love for one another. Without love, our spirituality is empty. It doesn't matter how long you can speak in tongues and pray, you can even quote the whole Bible but if you don't show love and compassion, you don't know God.

What's the use of our Christianity if we can't show love to one another? Today, you go to some churches and you see bitterness, envy and anger among the people of God. Where is the love of God in us? If we the followers of Christ cannot love one another, how then can we extend that love to the outside world?

A Christian without love is a spiritually dead Christian. God's nature is love. If we don't have love, then we are not born of God. It is that simple. A Christian must show genuine love, compassion and kindness to all. The love of God must be seen in us.

Even in our sins, God still showed us love. God's love is divine, pure and unconditional. That is the kind of love God expects His people to possess. Christianity began from the love of God. To be Christ-like is to possess the very nature of Jesus Christ, love.

Brethren, we cannot claim we love God if we don't love our fellow human beings. If we indeed love God, then let's show it by loving others. It doesn't matter who the person is, it doesn't matter what the person has done against you, God expects you to love that person.
