BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: JESUS WAS IN THE BOAT

SCRIPTURE: MARK 4:40

"He said to his disciples, 'Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

Welcome to BWC. One day, Jesus was in a boat with His disciples when a storm arose on the water. Jesus was asleep during the storm. The disciples were terrified so they woke their Lord up. He rebuked the storm and also rebuked their lack of faith.

One interesting thing about this story is that when the storm arose, Jesus was also in the boat. Obviously, the disciples weren't expecting a storm to attack them even with the Lord of the universe in their boat. Jesus is Lord, He definitely knew there was going to be a storm but He still asked His disciples to get into the boat.

Most of us Christians have the misconception that once we have God, we wouldn't pass through challenges or troubles. The truth is, there is no life more challenging than the Christian life. The presence of Jesus in your life isn't an insulation against troubles. It is an assurance of victory.

Jesus was in the boat but the storm still came. You can have Jesus and still go through afflictions. There will be difficult moments, you might still fall sick, you won't always be happy. But one thing is sure, the Lord will deliver you from all your afflictions.

Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego had God but they were still thrown into the fire. There are things that God will keep away from you and there are things He will allow you to go through for a purpose. God has a purpose for allowing every pain in your life. He shall deliver you at the end if you don't give up on Him.

If you are going through any painful or difficult moment now, remember the Lord is still in your boat. The storm may scare you but it doesn't scare God. Instead of complaining, have faith in God. Fear won't solve any problem for you. Have faith in the Lord. He shall deliver you.

God is not a last minute miracle worker. God operates in His divine timing. It may look like it is getting too late for you, but God is never late. Every storm you are going through is temporary. The Lord shall give you a testimony at the end if you keep your faith in Him.
