BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: LAY DOWN YOUR CROWN
SCRIPTURE: REVELATION 4:10
"the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne..."
Welcome to BWC. In the Book of Revelation, John recorded a scene in Heaven when the elders who sat around the throne of God laid down their crowns before the throne in complete worship. These were elders who were given crowns in Heaven but in the presence of the King of Kings, they had to lay those crowns down.
A crown is any thing in our lives that we have exalted above God. What crowns do you have in your life? What has taken the place of God in your life? Is it your family? Is it your job? Is it your love relationship? Is it money? It is time to lay down your crowns before God.
Only our Lord deserves the first place in our lives. He gave His life for us. He is the reason for our being. Nothing, absolutely nothing must take His place in our lives. We must not raise any crown above the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our lives.
Our human achievements count for nothing without God. Our relationships are nothing without God. Our families are nothing without God. Nothing must be more important to us than serving God. Our relationship with God is more important than any other relationship in our lives.
We must not take pride in our human achievements. Everything we are, everything we have achieved are all down to the Grace of God. We are nothing without God. It is vanity to allow your human achievements to take the place of God in your life.
Let us cast down our crowns before God. Let us do away with any thing that hinders us from living for God. Let's come before the throne of God in all humility and on bended knees and give Him all the worship that only He deserves. Let us live for God and honour Him with our lives.
PRAYER LINE
Lord, I lay it all down before you. I am nothing without you. Amen.
