TOPIC: THE GOLDEN CALF

SCRIPTURE: EXODUS 32:1-6

Welcome to BWC. At a point in time when the Israelites were still in the wilderness, Moses went to the presence of the Lord to receive the Ten Commandments. The Israelites waited on Moses but when they got tired of waiting, they gave up on Moses and God. They made a golden calf image and worshipped it.

There are lots of us Christians who have grown weary and burdened in our Christian walk. You have waited so long for God to show up but nothing seems to be happening. Your faith is crumbling. You are on the verge of giving up. God's message for you today is simple, don't give up.

In Exodus 32, the Israelites got tired of waiting on God so they gave up and turned to idol worshipping. It is however better to wait long on God than to go wrong. Sin is never an alternative to God. No matter how tired or discouraged you are in your Christian walk, never resort to sin.

Don't give up on God. Don't compromise your faith in God. Giving up on God won't solve any of your problems. The temptations to sin may be aplenty, but don't give in. Sin isn't the solution. Remain strong in the Lord. God has never disappointed any man who trusted in Him.

When things get hard for you, don't build for yourself a sinful golden calf and worship it. Never seek comfort in sin. The world may be deceiving us that sin is normal but God still hates sin. No sin is normal before God. There is no excuse to sin.

What requests have you placed before God? Your answer may be taking long but God will surely come through for you. Don't get discouraged and fall into sin. God has never failed, He won't fail you now. Just hold on.
