BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: NO PRICE, NO PRIZE
SCRIPTURE: 1 JOHN 2:2
"He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world".
Welcome to BWC. There is a price to pay for everything. This also applies to our faith walk with God.
For God to save us from the bondage of sin and eternal death, He had to pay the ultimate price of all. Jesus had to pay the price with His life to achieve the prize of our salvation. Nothing simply comes cheap. The cost of our salvation is the divine Blood of Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, we are a generation of believers who are not willing to sacrifice any thing for God but are always expecting God to do big things for us. Most of us always want to take the easy and convenient road, but there are no easy roads to Heaven.
The price we need to pay to live in Christ, is to die to this world. We cannot grow spiritually if we are not willing to cut off certain habits and spend enough time in Bible study and prayer. We won't go far with God if we are not willing to cut off certain relationships or friendships.
We cannot get to Heaven if we are not willing to take the difficult and narrow road. We cannot entangle ourselves with the things of this world and still expect God to give us the Crown of Glory when we die.
The price we need to pay to be followers of Christ is to deny ourselves of the pleasures of this world and carry our crosses. It is a spiritual deception for us to think that we can love money or this world and still love God. A believer must be separated from the carnal attractions of this world and live for God.
Living for God only becomes a burden when we love the world more than God. Do you want to walk with God? Then forsake this world and consecrate your life to God. Sin only leads to death. We must choose to live for God now.
