BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: TOTAL SURRENDER
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 16:24
"Then Jesus said to his disciples,'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me".
Welcome to BWC. To Surrender is to "give up completely or agree to forgo especially in favor of another". This is the point we must all come to in our walk with God. For us to enjoy the benefits of the presence of God, we must totally surrender to Jesus Christ.
To totally surrender to Jesus Christ is to forgo all your sins and make Jesus Christ the Lord and Master of your life. We must come to that point where obeying the Word of God is more important to us than our own comfort. Total surrender requires that we die to ourselves and live in Jesus Christ.
God demands total surrender from us. To surrender to God is to know and accept the Will of God for your life. We must surrender our human Will to the sovereign Will of God. Our lives should no longer be about what we want but what God wants. To do the Will of God must be our foremost priority.
Being a Christian isn't just about going to church but surrendering our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and living for Him. To surrender is to deny yourself of all the pleasures of this world and carry your cross to follow Jesus.
God demands total surrender not partial surrender. Either you totally give your life to God or you don't do it at all. You cannot be for God and at the same time be for the world. To follow Jesus Christ, you must give up on this world and its sinful pleasures.
To totally surrender to Jesus Christ is to totally live for Him. Our lives must all be about Jesus Christ. We must be Christ-like. The very nature of Jesus Christ must be seen in our lives. Our lives must be full of righteousness and holiness.
Have you totally surrendered your life to God? Or are you still holding back from Him? Are you still living in sin? The best time to fully give your life to Jesus is now, not tomorrow. Please surrender to Jesus Christ now.
