TOPIC: TOTAL CONSECRATION(I)

SCRIPTURE: 2 CORINTHIANS 6:17

"Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you”

Welcome to BWC. Consecration is "the solemn dedication to a special purpose or service, usually religious". In the Bible, consecration is “the separation of oneself from things that are unclean, especially anything that would contaminate one’s relationship with a perfect God.”

As Christians, God has called us out of darkness to be set apart for Him. We are not called to fit into this world, we are called to stand out. To be consecrated to God is to be set apart from the world for God. Which means you are in the world but you are not of the world.

Consecration carries the notions of holiness, sanctification and purity. Unfortunately, these are words that are very unpopular with many of us Christians today. We find it very difficult to overcome our fleshy desires and be Holy. But the truth remains; without holiness, we cannot see God.

After being born again, the next thing for us to do is to consecrate our lives to the Lord. God demands total consecration from His children. We cannot do what the world does and still call ourselves Christians. We cannot follow the world and still follow Jesus Christ.

It is important we note that this world is not our home. We are all passing through it. The world's systems are against the Word of God. This world hates what God loves and loves what God hates. Consecration is a necessity for any believer who wants to live for God.

Total consecration is when you totally devote your life to the service of God. Your body must be dedicated to God. Your mind and heart must be dedicated to the Lord. You must not contaminate yourself with the vanity and sins of this world. You must be set apart for God.
