TOPIC: ACTS OF GODLINESS
Welcome to BWC. This is the final part of our series on "Living a godly life". Today, we take a look at three acts of godliness.
LOVE(1 JOHN 4:7)
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
One of the most important attributes of a godly person is love. We cannot claim we walk with God if we don't walk in love. Love is an act of godliness. We cannot claim we know God and still live in bitterness and hatred. We must love even if it is difficult to do so.
FORGIVENESS(MATTHEW 6:14-15)
"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins".
Forgiveness is an act of godliness. A godly person must possess the heart of forgiveness. If we want to live a godly life that pleases God, then we must do away with anger, strife, bitterness and hatred. We can't expect God to forgive us our sins if we can't forgive others. We must forgive freely, not because it is easy but because God expects us to forgive.
OBEDIENCE(JOHN 14:15)
"If ye love me, keep my commandments".
This was Jesus' message to His disciples. Obedience is an extremely important act of godliness. We cannot please God if we don't obey His Word. A godly person walks in complete obedience to the Word of God.
We must not only obey when it is convenient. The Word of God is the Spirit of God. Whatever the Bible calls a sin is a sin. If we want to walk in godliness, we must avoid all resemblance of sin. We must walk in obedience and faithfulness.
Dear reader, please are you living a godly life? We get born again when we receive Christ, but we live in Christ when we walk in holiness and godliness. If your life is not godly, please don't hesitate, go to God and repent from all sins. God expects His Children to be godly, so you must be godly. Stay blessed.
