Breakfast With Christ - The Valley Of Death
BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: THE VALLEY OF DEATH
SCRIPTURE: PSALM 23:4
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me".
Welcome to BWC. Psalm 23 is one of the most popular scriptures in the Bible. It is a Psalm that seeks to give hope in difficult times. Today, we take a look at the verse 4 of this wonderful Psalm of David.
David's use of the phrase "the valley of the shadow of death" in Psalm 23 symbolically represents the dangerous situations we go through in this world. Any situation we go through that can destroy us or cut short our lives is a valley of death situation.
The valley of death is a place where there is no comfort. It is a life and death situation. It is an evil place. When you are in such a situation, your hope must be in the Lord. You must hold on to God firmly.
David boldly declared that even if he is in the valley of the shadow of death, he will fear no evil. Why? The Lord is with him. If you are going through a situation today that is threatening to cut off your life, remember God is with you. God will never forsake you.
Walking through the valley of the shadows of death may scare us but it doesn't scare God. God is with us even in the most dangerous of circumstances. God is bigger than every deadly situation we may face. Our confidence must be in the Lord. He never fails.
It is very important to note that David said "walk through". The valley of death isn't our permanent destination. We only walk through it. There is no situation you are going through today that is permanent. The pains you go through, the struggles, the disappointments are not permanent. God is able to turn our situations around for our good. God is with you.
Don't allow temporary challenges to cause a permanent damage to your faith in God. God has bigger plans for you. But you must first pass through the valley of death to be strong. Grow through the things you go through and allow God to be your God even in your struggles. Don't give up.
