TOPIC: A BRIDE OF CHRIST

SCRIPTURE: EPHESIANS 5:27

"That HE might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

Welcome to BWC. In Ephesians 5:22-30, Paul symbolically compares the relationship between a husband and wife to the relationship that exist between Christ and the Church.

The word "church" comes from the Greek word "ekklesia" meaning the "called out" or "the assembly". So basically, the church is made up of you and me. This means that the Bride of Christ is you and me.

As the Bride of Christ, God expects us to be holy and without any spot from the world. Each one of us is married to Christ symbolically. We are to live and be submissive to Christ who is the head of the Church. We are to be set apart from the carnality of the world.

We cannot be married to Christ unless we divorce or break our sinful relationship with the world. It is impossible to be the Bride of Christ at the same time married to the world. It is very important that we deny ourselves of all the pleasures of this world if we want to be part of the Holy Church that Christ will send to Heaven.

Some of us too have a marriage of convenience with Christ. We only obey His Word when it is comfortable for us to do so. We are unfaithful to our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.

We want to be married to Christ but we are still flirting with the carnality of the world. Christ expects His Bride to be HOLY.

A Bride of Christ must be holy. A Bride of Christ must distance himself/herself from all sinful pleasures. A Bride of Christ must live for only God. A Bride of Christ must be obedient to the Word of God. You cannot be a Bride of Christ and live for yourself. So, are you a Bride of Christ?

Please if you are still married to this world through sin, repent and be washed clean by the Blood of Christ. This is the only way you can become a Bride of Christ. Remember, Christ is coming for a Bride that is holy and without any sinful spot. Be a faithful Bride of Christ.

Lord, please help me to be faithful and holy. Amen
