TOPIC: THE ARMOUR OF GOD II

SCRIPTURE: EPHESIANS 6:14-15

Welcome to BWC. Today, we continue with a series we started yesterday on "The Armour of God". In Ephesians 6:11, Paul encouraged us to put on the whole armour of God so that we can stand against the schemes of the devil. Today, we will take a look at three of the six components of the Armour of God.

BELT OF TRUTH (EPHESIANS 6:14A)

In a world where Satan is operating on lies and deceit, for believers to stand against Satan, we need to operate in Truth. The belt is that component of the Armour that holds all the other components in place. To stand against Satan, we need to hold on to the Truth of God's Word. We need to also walk in truth.

BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (EPHESIANS 6:14B)

The breastplate is worn by soldiers to cover the vital organs of the body like the heart against damage in battle. As Christians, we need to walk in righteousness. Not our own righteousness, but the righteousness of Christ Jesus. We need to keep our hearts clean from evil and sin. We can only win our spiritual battles if we walk in righteousness and holiness.

FEET FITTED FOR THE GOSPEL OF PEACE (EPHESIANS 6:15)

Soldiers on the battle ground always had their feet protected against any obstacle that may come their way. The devil always sets trap for us. He is totally against the spreading of the Gospel. Paul is in this message telling us to prepare adequately to preach the Gospel. The Gospel of the Lord has to be preached and it can only be done by Christians. The more we spread the Gospel, the more Satan is defeated.

If you are a Christian, your life is a daily battleground. Satan is constantly attacking you with all sorts of devices. You don't need to rest. You need to fight. The victory is already won by Christ, but you need to stand well to claim that victory. Your victory is in Christ Jesus. In our next BWC, we look at the other three elements of the Armour of God.
