TOPIC: THE CALLED

SCRIPTURE: 1 PETER 2:9

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

Welcome to BWC. Under the old covenant established between God and Abraham, God's people were the Israelites. This however changed under the new covenant established on the Blood of Christ. Jesus Christ reunited humanity back to God.

If you are a Christian, you are part of God's people. God called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. So why did God call us? Simple, to proclaim His praises. Proclaiming His praises simply means to worship God with all our being.

As Christians, we are called to be different from the world. We were not called to continue living like the world. We are in the world but we are not of the world. We were called into the light of Christ, our duty is to walk in that light.

This world is full of carnal attractions and temptations. If we want to walk in the light of Jesus Christ, we will have to overcome the lust of this world. Sin will always be attractive but the end of it is eternal destruction. The only way we will get to see God one day is if we walk in holiness.

Today, I urge you to choose to live for God. Living for God every day isn't automatic. It has to be a deliberate choice. We need to always choose to reject the attractions of this world and live for God. It won't be easy but the Spirit of God is always there to strengthen those who are willing to live for God.

Lord, thank you for calling me out of darkness into your light. Please give me the Grace to always walk in your light. Amen.
