Breakfast With Christ - An Attitude Of Gratitude

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

SCRIPTURE: LUKE 17:15-16

"And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan"

Welcome to BWC. When was the last time you thanked God for answering any of your prayers? When was the last time you showed God some gratitude?

One day, Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem. Outside the city, He met ten lepers who called on Him for mercy. Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the Priest. On their way, they were healed of the leprosy. However, only one out of the ten came back to show appreciation to Jesus. Jesus was surprised by the lack of appreciation by the other nine men.

It is easy to identify the fault of these other nine healed lepers who refused to show appreciation for their miracle. But how many times do we remember to go back to thank God when He answers our prayers? Many of us easily take God's blessings for granted. We hardly show any appreciation.

When we wake up from bed, do we even remember to thank God for the gift of life? Before we retire to bed at night, do we even remember to thank God for taking us through the day? Before we eat, do we remember to thank God for granting us our daily bread?

The blessing you are taking for granted is someone's prayer topic. There are people who pay for oxygen at the hospital yet you are taking God's free gift of breath for granted. How much does it cost to say "thank you Lord"? There are people who sadly die through accidents every day, yet you are taking God's travelling mercies for granted.

We fast and pray hard for days for God to answer our prayers yet when He does, we hardly go back to thank Him. Nothing in this world is automatic. It is not by our strength, God is faithful us. We need to develop the attitude of gratitude. Thanksgiving has to be part of our daily lifestyle.

We need to always appreciate what God is doing for us. In good times and in bad times, we need to always thank God. God loves a grateful heart. Today, please take time to count your blessings and be grateful to God instead of always complaining.

PRAYER LINE:

Thank you Lord. I am grateful. Amen.
