TOPIC: TRIAL BY FIRE

SCRIPTURE: JAMES 1:2-3

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials. Knowing that the testing of your faith produces perseverance"

Welcome to BWC. The life of a Christian isn't an easy one. We are not called to live an easy life where everything goes our way. The fact that you are a Christian doesn't mean everything will be fine with you. God always leads us through the most difficult of paths.

God always tests our faith. In 1 Peter 1:7, Peter compares the testing of our faith to how raw gold is tested through fire before it becomes pure gold. The fire isn't meant to destroy the gold but to refine it into a polished mineral.

God doesn't put us through fire to hurt us. The fire of God is meant to refine our faith and cleanse us from all the dirts of carnality. God's refining process is very uncomfortable. You will feel like giving up. You will be crushed, you will be down, you will actually suffer.

Our journey to eternity isn't easy. It will never be easy for anyone. Don't expect it to be easy. You will go through various trials. A lot of things will go wrong in your life. Your health, your finances and your relationships will suffer. But it is all for a good cause.

All these refining process are meant to draw you closer to God. God will put you through the fire to purify you. If you can stand the fire of God, you can stand anything in this world. God's trial by fire is a daily process God puts us through to make us depend on Him alone.

Through all these, we must hold on to our faith till the end. We must never give up on God. God is faithful. He will never allow you to go through anything you can't handle. If God has brought you to it, then He will take you through it. You don't have to worry.

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit". Psalm 34:18.

May the Lord give us the strength to be faithful to Him till end. Amen.
