BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: JEHOVAH JIREH

SCRIPTURE: PHILIPPIANS 4:19

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus".

Welcome to BWC. "Jehovah Jireh" is a Hebrew name for God which means "the Lord our Provider". This name was first used by Abraham when God provided a ram for him to sacrifice instead of sacrificing his son, Isaac.(Genesis 22:14).

Since that day, when the Israelites were in need, they always called on Jehovah Jireh. God's ability to always provide for His children is one of His most essential attributes. One of the most important duties of a father is to provide for the needs of his children. God is our chief provider.

In our scripture for today, Paul reminded the Church in Philippi that God is their provider. God provides us with life every day. God provides us with healing any time we are sick. God provides us with our physical needs every day. God is a loving Father who cares for us.

God doesn't depend on our bank account to provide for us, God doesn't depend on our parent's pockets to provide for us. God doesn't depend on any human being to provide for us. In fact, God doesn't even depend on us to provide for us. God's provision for us comes through Jesus Christ.

In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus commanded us not to worry about our physical needs, but we should rather seek first the Kingdom of God and it's righteousness. Our job isn't to worry about anything, our job is to focus on God and worship Him. When we do this, He will grant us everything else.

Why worry when you have God? If God could give you life then He can surely provide your needs too. Jehovah is your great provider, He will take care of you. Just trust Him and worship Him. Stay blessed.
