TOPIC: DEVELOPING A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

SCRIPTURE: REVELATION 3:20

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me"

Welcome to BWC. In our individual lives, we all seek to develop our human relationships. We spend time trying to build relationships with our parents, our friends and our love partners. Somehow, for most of us, building a personal relationship with God, our Maker seems to be a secondary priority.

We are okay with our weekly ritual of going to the Temple to worship God. We only fast when the church declares a general fast, we only pray when we are sick or in some trouble. We only read our Bibles when we want to look for a Bible quotation. This isn't what God wants from us. God wants a personal relationship with us.

Christianity is all about having a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. After the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, God set out a plan to bring man back to Himself. Jesus died and rose again to reconcile us back to our Maker. All God wants from us is a RELATIONSHIP.

Unfortunately, many of us are so busy developing our human relationships that we hardly bother about God. God has sadly become like a spare tyre in our lives that we only remember when we are in need. Many of us Christians have no relationship whatsoever with God. We are just practicing religion.

Jesus didn't die to make us religious. Man had a religion before Jesus Christ came, but man had no relationship with God. Each one of us need to develop a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We need to have a personal time with God.

It is good to develop relationship with our fellow human beings, but the most important relationship we all need to develop is the relationship with our Saviour. Only a relationship with our saviour will save us.

Today, Jesus Christ is knocking on the door of your heart. He wants to come into your heart and have a relationship with you. Are you too busy to allow Him into your heart? If you hear His Voice today, don't harden your heart. Please allow the Lord into your life and develop a personal relationship with Him. Stay Blessed.
