TOPIC: THE WORD OF GOD
SCRIPTURE: PSALM 119:11
"I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."
Welcome to BWC. The Word of God contains the Mind and the Spirit of God. Any time we read the Bible, we are reading the Mind of God. The Word of God contains every thing we need to know concerning our lives on earth and our lives here after. Paul told us in 2 Timothy 3 that all scriptures are inspired by God.
The Bible contains 66 books written by 40 different writers. Most of the books in the Old Testament were written by different writers some of which are anonymous. The Book of Psalms, which is one of the longest Books in the Bible was written by more than four writers not only David. The first four Books of the New Testament contains the life of Jesus Christ whilst the rest is dominated by the writings of Apostle Paul.
Just as a teacher needs a Syllabus and a sailor needs a compass, we Christians also need the Word of God to guide us in this world. If you want to know what God thinks about a particular situation, just read the Bible. The Word of God contains basically everything we need to know. Even though the Bible was written by human beings, nothing is in it that shouldn't be there. God inspired every Word that is in the Bible.
So many of us complain that we don't hear the voice of God yet we hardly open our Bibles. Constant studying of the Word of God will keep us away from sin. One of the reasons we still easily fall for sin is because we haven't hidden the Word of God in our hearts. We hardly read and meditate on God's word.
We cannot survive without the Word of God. If we want to walk with God and get to our destination, we need the Word of God to guide us. We need to know what sin is and how to live a holy life. Without holiness, we will never see God. We need to spend time daily meditating on God's Word and living according to what God says.
Today, make a personal decision to spend time studying God's Word every day. The Bible isn't a story book to be read for fun, we need to ask the Spirit of God to help us understand what we read from the Bible. Also, we need to practice what we read. Stay blessed.
