Breakfast With Christ - The Crown Of Thorns

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: THE CROWN OF THORNS

SCRIPTURE: REVELATION 2:10

"Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."

Welcome to BWC. In the Gospels, it is recorded that the Roman soldiers placed a crown of thorns on Jesus' head before crucifying Him(Matthew 27:28-29). They did this to mock His Kingship. Jesus was in an excruciating pain but He endured.

In the Book of Revelation, one of the highest rewards Jesus promised those who will stay faithful to Him till the end is the CROWN OF LIFE. The Crown of Life is not a gift, it is a reward. Meaning we need to work for it. However, before God will give us the crown of life, we need to endure the CROWN OF THORNS.

The christian journey is far from being a rosy journey. It is an incredible difficult journey. It is made up of different challenges. Just as the soldiers gave Jesus the crown of thorns, life also presents us with different Crowns of Thorns we need to endure.

We all go through difficult moments, our faithfulness to God is tested in our most difficult moments. A mark of a true Christian is not his ability to escape problems but going through the problem and still maintaining your faith in God. No matter who you, if you are going to follow Jesus, you will need to endure the Crown of Thorns the world will give you.

We all have different Crowns of thorns, for some it is a chronic sickness, for some it is failed relationships, for some it is joblessness. There are many challenges we face on earth. Some are actually ordained by God to develop our character. Whatever the challenge may be, we need to endure it and keep our faith in God.

It is only by enduring the Crown of Thorns that God will give us the Crown of Life. Life won't get easier, we need to hold on to God firmly. God's promised Crown is for those who remain faithful till the end. Let's not give up on God, no matter what may come our way, God will always be there to see us through. Stay blessed!

PRAYER LINE:

Father, today I pray that may you be my strength when I am weak. May your Grace be sufficient for me in this Life. Amen.
