BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: LIVING FOR GOD(III)
SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies".
Welcome to BWC. This is the third part of our series on "Living for God". Today, we focus on how we must keep our bodies as the temple of God. A temple is a building devoted to the worship of a deity.
OUR BODIES: THE TEMPLE OF GOD
In the days of Apostle Paul, it got to a time that the church at Corinth was engulfed in sexual immorality. So Paul had to write to them to remind them that their bodies are for God and they can't use it just anyhow.
Today, we see the same situation in the world and unfortunately in the Body of Christ. There are lot of us who say we are Christians yet we still endulge in sexual immorality. God isn't happy with us. The Bible clearly tells us that no sexual immoral person will enter into heaven. To live for God, we need to keep our bodies pure for Him.
Our bodies were created by God, Jesus Christ redeemed us from sin and the Holy Spirit dwells in us. No part of our body belongs to us. We therefore can't use it anyhow. Sexual immorality is controlled by demons, any time we engage in any sexual immoral behavior, we sell our souls and bodies to Satan.
There are lots of us Christians who go to church regularly but our souls and bodies are controlled by Satan. It sounds strange but it is true. I believe God is calling on us to repent today. There are so many other things that make our bodies impure for God. To live for God and obtain blessings, we need to keep our bodies pure for God. Our bodies don't belong to us.
If you're reading this today, and you find yourself as a Christian engaged in any illicit sexual behavior, please God is calling you to repentance today. God wants you to come to Him and His Grace will cleans you. Your body is for God not you, you must keep it clean for Him. God loves you and wants you to live for Him. Stay blessed.
PRAYER LINE:
Lord, I am sorry for not keeping my body as your temple. Please help me to live a holy life for you. Amen.
