THE JOY PRINCIPLE
That this world is a complicate place isn't a secret. Our relationship with our fellow human beings can also get very complex. It is a world where the love of many is growing cold. Yet we can still live a good life if we get our priorities right. Let's briefly go through what I call the J-O-Y principle.
•J-JESUS FIRST
Jesus Christ, our Saviour deserves the first place in our lives. We always have to put Him first above all things. Our priority has to be developing an intimate relationship with our Saviour. Pleasing Him has to be all that we should live for. Our commitment to the work of God has to be supreme. When all is said and done on this earth, all that will matter at the end is our relationship with Jesus Christ. Do you have Jesus in your life?
• O- OTHERS SECOND
We need to genuinely have the interest of others at heart. The world has become so cynical that showing genuine love for others has become so rare. But if we want to have a good life, we need to care for others. We need to love and show kindness to other people. Life isn't all about ourselves. It is a small world. We need to help others when we can. Hatred, envy and bitterness won't make us better people. Love has to lead us.
• Y- YOURSELF THIRD
Love yourself, appreciate yourself, accept yourself. If you don't accept yourself, don't expect anyone else to accept you. Look at yourself in the mirror and say positive things to yourself. Take care of yourself, live well, eat well and develop yourself. You are all that you have.
Do something with your life to the glory of God. Keep your heart clean from bitterness. No matter what you do, there will always be people who are above you and below you in this world. Don't try to be anybody else, live to fulfill your purpose. God didn't create you to compete with anyone else. Live your life to please only God.
