BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: THE PRAYER ANSWERING GOD
SCRIPTURE: 1 CHRONICLES 4:10
"Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request."
Little is known of Jabez in the Bible. According to the Bible, Jabez was more honourable than his brothers(1 Chronicles 4:9). Jabez however had a problem; his name. Since his mother gave birth to him in pain, she named him Jabez (meaning "sorrowful").
Jabez, in trying to avoid the negative influence his name might have on him decided to pray to God and the Bible said God answered him.
Similarly, in Isaiah 38:1-5, God sent Prophet Isaiah to inform king Hezekiah that he will soon die. Hezekiah turned to the wall and cried out to God and God answered him and added fifteen more years to his age.
Again, in 1 Samuel 1:9-20, Hannah who was childless went before God and cried out to Him for a child. In due time, God answered Hannah and she gave birth to Samuel.
Brethren, we serve a prayer answering God. If God could answer Jabez, Hezekiah and Hannah, then God can still answer you today. God hasn't changed. His mercies endures forever. These stories were recorded to show us that if there is a man to pray then there is a God to answer.
What do you want from God today? Just pray. God loves you. He will answer you. Pray and don't doubt. Don't pray from the position of doubt, pray from the position of faith. No matter what the circumstances is, God will surely answer you. He is a prayer answering God. Nothing is too hard for Him. If you can believe in the impossible, God will do the impossible for you. Stay blessed.
PRAYER LINE:
Thank you Lord for answering my prayers. Amen.
