BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: YOU OF LITTLE FAITH
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 14:31
"Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
The foundation of our relationship with God is FAITH. Without faith, it is impossible to worship God. When we come to God, we need to believe that He exists even though we can't see Him. Faith is extremely necessary in our walk with God. In the Gospels, one criticism Jesus always levelled against His disciples was their weak faith or 'little faith'.
It is surprising that a group of people who walked with Jesus everyday and saw Him do miracles would still have weak faith. One day, the disciples were in a boat when they saw Jesus walking on the water to them. They were scared. Jesus calmed their fears. Peter decided to walk on the water to Jesus. It was going well until he saw the waves then he began to sink. Jesus of course saved Him and rebuked him for having a little faith.
Most of us Christians today are like Peter. We have faith in God only when everything seems alright in our lives. When things turn bad, we begin to doubt God. Our faith in God is dependent on our circumstances. We have little faith. When Peter saw the waves of the sea, he got scared and took his focus from Jesus and began to focus on the danger surrounding him, this made him begin to sink.
Brethren, this world has a lot of dangers surrounding us but our focus must be on Jesus not on our problems. We need to have faith in God irrespective of what our situations may be. We exhibit little faith when we begin to doubt God, we exhibit little faith when we begin to worry or live in fear.
No matter what happens, never doubt God. There is nothing God cannot do. The same God that brought you this far, will accomplish His work in your life. Always trust God to take care of you. If your situation is bad, have faith. God is able. He promised to take care of you and be with you. God doesn't break His promises. Your faith must be bigger than your fears. Stay blessed!
PRAYER LINE:
Lord, thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for always being there for me. Please help me have complete faith in you. Amen.
