BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: PAID IN FULL

SCRIPTURE: JOHN 19:30 "When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit."

"He paid a debt He did not owe. I owed a debt I could not pay. I needed someone to wash my sins away. And now I sing a brand new song. Amazing Grace Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay" (popular Christian hymn).

When Jesus realized He had completed His work, He shouted "it is finished" and died. The Greek word translated "It is finished" is "tetelestai" which means "Paid in full". When Jesus declared 'it is finished' on the Cross, He was declaring that He has fully paid for our sins. His work was completed on earth.

All our condemnation, sicknesses, sins, curses and all other consequences of sin was PAID IN FULL. We no longer have to suffer from sin. We no longer have to go to hell when we die. Everything that pertains to our sins was washed away on the Cross. On the Cross, Jesus gave us complete freedom over sin.

We can however only enjoy the sacrifice of Jesus Christ if we accept Him into our lives. Today, Jesus is asking you to make a room for Him in your heart. Do not harden your heart to the Saviour's call. All your sins and mistakes were forgiven on the Cross. All you need to do is to accept Jesus and live for Him. Please make that decision today. Prayer line: Lord, thank you for the finished work on the Cross. Today, I rededicate my life to you, please help me to live for you.
